In February 2024, I walked onto the job site and saw five range hoods sitting in their cardboard boxes, unopened. Dale, the general contractor, was leaning against the counter with his arms crossed. That's never a good sign.
"These won't fit," he said.
He was right. And that was the moment my 12-unit appliance upgrade went from "two-week project" to something a lot more expensive.
Let me back up. I'm a facilities manager for a property management company that runs a 34-unit mobile home community plus a 20-unit apartment building.
